We are pleased to present our trainings in collaboration with Health Resources in Action (HRiA). Lead trainer, Laurie Jo Wallace, is Director of Training and Capacity Building for HRiA. She has 25 years of experience in youth development, substance abuse prevention and coalition building.
Engaging Youth in Preventing Opioid Addiction
The abuse of opioids - including prescription painkillers and heroin - is at epidemic levels nationally. Prevention is vital.
This training features our evidence-based DVD Drugs: True Stories. The training will deepen your knowledge and skills to help you more effectively communicate with youth about opioids. You'll learn proven strategies for engaging youth in substance abuse prevention activities, coalitions and policy change.
Additionally, you'll learn best practices for incorporating Drugs: True Stories into your programming.
Drugs: True Stories is included in SAMHSA's National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices (NREPP).
Engaging Youth in Preventing Underage Drinking
This training features our evidence-based DVD Alcohol: True Stories Hosted by Matt Damon. The training will build upon your knowledge and skills to help you more effectively communicate with youth about underage drinking. You’ll learn proven strategies for engaging youth in underage drinking prevention activities, coalitions and policy change.
Additionally, you’ll learn best practices for incorporating Alcohol: True Stories Hosted by Matt Damon into you programming.
Our bullying prevention trainings feature our DVD Bullying: True Stories. The training will enhance your programs and give you tools and strategies to address bullying behavior. Dr. Robin D'Antona, a nationally respected bullying expert, will customize an interactive training or workshop to address your needs.
